How do I create an account?

Visit the client registration page to create your account. Due to a recent system upgrade, all clients need to register for a new account to access transcript download features.

I had an old account - what happened to my data?

We can migrate your existing prepay credit and data to your new account upon request. Simply contact us at support@uktranscription.com with your old account details.

Can multiple team members share one billing account?

Yes, secondary accounts can utilise centralised billing by using the same billing name in their dashboard. All orders will then be billed to the associated billing account, and prepay balances can be shared between team members.

What file formats do you accept?

We accept most common audio formats including MP3, WAV, M4A, and other standard audio file types. We do not accept DS2, crdownload, DSS, or zip files.

Is there a file size limit?

Yes, there is currently a 1GB upload limit. Larger files may require special handling - please contact us if you have files exceeding this limit.

What happens if my upload is interrupted?

Our system uses resumable upload technology, which means if your upload is interrupted due to network issues or browser problems, you can resume from where it left off without starting over.

Can I upload multiple files at once?

Yes, you can select and upload multiple files in a single session through our upload interface.

What types of transcription do you offer?

We offer various transcription services with different turnaround times: 1 Day delivery from £1.80 per minute, 2-4 Days delivery from £1.30 per minute, and 1-3 Weeks delivery from £1.10 per minute.

How is pricing calculated?

Pricing is calculated per minute of audio, with rates varying based on: chosen delivery deadline (faster = higher rate), audio quality and complexity, and any special requirements or surcharges. You'll receive a detailed quote before confirming your order.

What if my audio has multiple speakers or is poor quality?

Audio with multiple speakers, poor quality, or technical jargon may incur additional surcharges. These will be clearly indicated in your quote before you proceed with the booking. Generally the surcharge is either 25p or 50p per minute depending on the audio complexity.

How do I book a transcription after getting a quote?

After receiving your quote via email, you'll receive a secure booking link where you can select deadlines and customise options such as: which files to include in the order, your preferred delivery method, notification email addresses, and project codes or references.

How will I know when my transcript is ready?

You'll receive an email notification when your transcript is completed, along with either the transcript attached (for email delivery) or a secure download link (for download delivery).

How long are download links valid?

Download links are typically valid for 1 week from when they're generated.

Can I make changes to my order after booking?

Contact us immediately at support@uktranscription.com if you need to make changes. We'll do our best to accommodate requests if transcription hasn't started.

What if I'm not satisfied with the transcript quality?

We strive for high accuracy. If you have concerns about quality, please contact us within 1 week of delivery and we'll review your transcript for free and discount your invoice as appropriate.

The upload page seems to freeze - what should I do?

If you experience browser freezing during upload: 1) Check your internet connection, 2) Try using a different browser (Chrome recommended), 3) Contact support if problems persist.

I can't log in to my account

Try these steps: 1) Ensure you're using the correct email and password, 2) Check if Caps Lock is on, 3) Clear your browser cache and cookies, 4) Try the 'Force Logout & Clear Session' option if the login page is stuck, 5) Use the password reset option if needed.

How do I reset my password?

Visit the reset password page and enter your email address. You'll receive instructions to create a new password.

How do I check my prepay balance?

Log into your account dashboard to view your current prepay credit balance and transaction history.

Can I download my previous transcripts?

Yes, visit the transcripts page in your account to view and download your completed transcripts.

How do I update my billing information?

Please email support to change your billing details.
